Arch11 was invited to Master Plan and produce conceptual design for a 300,000 SF campus housing offices, auditorium, daycare and fitness centers for a privately held international equity firm. Per the client request, the design references early 20th century industrial buildings with large glass sashes and sawtooth roofs providing day lighting throughout the open planned work spaces. Sited on 25 acres at the foot of the Rocky Mountains, each building is oriented to take advantage of specific mountain peak views. Particularly dramatic is the backdrop to the auditorium stage, when the opaque scrim is raised, a great glazed wall reveals views to Rocky Mountain National Park. As a strategy to limit the impact of the automobile, a 200-car parking garage is embedded in the ground and serves as the primary structural foundation for the campus. Surface parking is avoided reducing storm-water retention requirements and allowing a significant area of the site to remain in its natural state.
